Babies Learning To Walk - Be Camera Ready!

Your sitting there on the couch watching your baby play with her toys when suddenly, out of the blue,  you watch with anticipated excitement as your baby pulls herself up to an almost perfect standing position. As you fumble for your camera or cellphone,  you hope with anxiety that she won't sit back down. Not until you get "that first shot."  You're so happy to see what your baby has done on her own that you have to send the picture to your husband, mother, friends, everyone on facebook. You may even create a video and place it on You-tube for all to see. You're so proud of your bundle of joy you can't help yourself. What a wonderful feeling to know that your baby is developing normally.  Most babies start to pull themselves up and start trying to walk at about 8 - 9 months.  Soon to follow will be the standing while not holding onto anything else. The balancing begins. Your baby will begin to stand up more erect and even standing without holding unto any support. Next will come trying to take their first steps. Make sure you have your camera ready for that. The first steps are marked as a milestone in the development of babies. That's usually the one that gets framed a placed where everyone can see it when they come visit.

As your baby develops their ability to stand up, with the occasional sitting back down, mothers will help them to stand and walk while holding their hands. This helps with their balance as well as helping babies to gain strength in their legs and to be able to hold themselves up.  It's such a joy to help them walk and eventually letting go as they take their first real steps on their own. Pretty soon you'll be walking with them with your hands stretched out on both sides of their little bodies just incase they loose their balance. This is one of the magical times you will share with your baby. It's something a mother never forgets. What's really exciting is when daddy gets home and gets to see it for the first time too. Then you'll spend time sitting on the floor with baby between each of you. With your arms stretched out towards your baby in the hopes that she will walk towards you with that little forward lean they have in their walk. As babies develop their ability to walk more and more, it's important to always keep that "mothers eye" on them. You thought you had baby proofed your home before; now you really want to make sure theres nothing in reach of your baby that may hurt them. So be on your toes too. 

You're going to have your hands full keeping up with your baby so keep yourself healthy, you and baby should always get plenty of rest. It's amazing what your baby will do when they first learn to walk. Sometimes it's just plain funny. Your little baby that you once held in your arms, so small, is growing fast right before your eyes. Lots of pictures moms, keep those camera's, video cam's and cellphone camera's  at the ready. Enjoy everything about your babies development. As fast as time goes by. Before you know it...believe it or not, they will be all grown up before your very eyes into a beautiful adult. Teach your children well. Enjoy the day.
